5 IMPORTANT TIPS FOR SHOPPING ONLINE IN NIGERIA ON BLACK FRIDAY

Black Friday is here guys!! Whoop whoop! *dancing alanta*

Did you just ask what Black Friday is? Lol… Have you been under a rock? Lol

Black Friday is the biggest sales event on the entire planet. It is the day after thanksgiving (which is on the fourth Thursday of November) and it is a day when manufacturers and stores give massive discounts on their goods.

Now in Nigeria we do not celebrate Thanksgiving but I am so glad that more and more stores here are jumping on the Black Friday bandwagon and holding sales events. Why? Because I love a bargain! Who doesn’t!

I spent last year’s Black Friday on Jumia, and I shared some deals I got in a video on my Facebook page here. This year I am spending Black Friday on Konga here.

Konga’s Black Friday sales event is called Yakata and it started today 26th November 2015 and will last till tomorrow 27th November 2015.

And in the spirit of the season I would like to share some tips about shopping online on black Friday below:
1)    Research on the sites indulging in BF and the products you really want to get beforehand: it’s a bit late for this tip because black Friday is here already but at least take note for next time. Most of these sites share items that will be on sale on black Friday before the date so you can compare the prices to other sites and know if it’s worth the buy.

2)     Shop only the great deals! If i cant save at least N20,000 or get up to 40% discount (for smaller items) then it isn’t a worthy black Friday deal… for me anyway. I have put together some Tech deals on YAKATA that I feel are sure deals for the season. Check it out here

3)       Log in to your preferred online shops a day before (today!) or download their app alternative that way you don’t waste time looking for a system to log on to when you can just use your mobile device.

4)     Shop in the early am’s to avoid a crowd and possible site crashes: last year I had to wake up as early as 2:00am to shop and spent the rest of the day smugly watching my colleagues struggle with the site

5)   Checkout before you think! be aggressive, we want to nab that deal before it goes out of stock so once you add it to your cart, check out!

All in all I hope you have a great sales day, don’t forget to look through my list of some of the big ticket items on sale on Konga here and let me know you see anything you like (after you’ve aggressively bought it first that is!)
I will also be on 103.5 WE FM tomorrow talking about Black Friday and if Nigerians are copying to many westernized trends by partaking in the sales event…. so if you are in Abuja please tune in between 10 and 11 am to hear my thoughts on that ( even though you might have already guessed that by the tone of this post… hehe).

Thanks for reading this guys I hope this helped you somehow
